Bingo Night!

One of my first "great ideas" of 2002 was to rent out a bingo hall and put on a comedy Bingo spectacular. Celebrity callers, live band, video, the works! By grace of god, just when we started looking for venues, we got a call from Sean at Spanganga telling us that the fine people at The Odeon Bar in Bernal Heights were all set up for Bingo and would love to have us host a Sunday evening event. With just a couple weeks to prepare, we threw together an intro video explaining how Chris and I couldn't make it out for the night as scheduled because we were in L.A. celebrating Mother's Day. Instead, we invited our guests to enjoy the "comedic stylings" of Matt and Luke from the "New Cuyama Youth Life Ministries". Never having perfomed for a youthful (or non-Christian) audience, it gave Matt and Luke the opportunity to "flex their comedic muscles", and flex they did. To make the evening even more interesting, the Odeon mistakenly double booked the bar with a benefit to support a group of people who build robots to fight each other. These people didn't get the joke, which was a good and bad thing. Here are some highlights of the night, courtesy of Noah Blumberg:
