Baja Fresh is Fresh!
by jamie flam
Why must I like Baja Fresh so much? Because it's diggy diggy DOPE ya'll! They got mad burritos, tacos, and more. And the salsa bar is anything but wack-sauce! For reals, one must check the nearest Baja Fresh as soon as possible.
Isn't that funny? You see, because the name of the place is Baja Fresh, and "fresh" is an adjective that was used by many a hip-hopper in the hip-hop hey days, I decided it would be extremely funny to use that rappy rap motif in my review of the restaurant. Did it work? I don't think so. Even though I like to think I know more than the average person about the history of the Rap music genre, I found myself scrambling for old school words to use in the review. Even still, it was difficult for me to put them into a context that would allow me to do any justice to the review itself. I mean, as much as lunchboxing readers enjoy humor, I thnk they also come here for a legitimate review on new and exciting places and things. Henceforth, the actual review:
Baja Fresh is real good. I used to go to the one in Sherman Oaks at Coldwater Canyon and Venture Blvd. all the time. I'd usually get the veggie burrito. It was real good. Now, from time to time (twice to be exact) I go to the one located in downtown San Francisco on Fremont and Mission I believe. I have gone with Chris Weisbart (pictured above). On the day the above picture was taken, I got the Baja chicken salad. It was really good. I asked for a water cup, and put Sprite in it. Fooled them real nice. It was pretty affordable, and it seems that they are becoming pretty accessible. On a scale of chipotle peppers, 17 being really good Mexican cuisine, and 4 being just alright Mexian cuisine, I give Baja Fresh a 14, which is pretty damn good. Go eat there.
