Top 20 70's Horror Films just dying to be remade

by jeremy padow

I saw the horror remake, "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" last weekend and found it a bloody good time. One of the trailers before the film was for "Dawn of the Dead" also a remake. Earlier this year we were treated to Crispin Glover in a new version of "Willard." All three of these original films are from the 1970s.

Yes, my friends, the 70s are back. Well, actually they were really back in the 90s, but remaking 70s horror films is now all the rage.

With that in mind, below is a list of 20 horror films from the 70s that are just ripe for remaking. If you happen to be a studio exec reading this, please feel free to remake, re-imagine, reinterpret, re-envision any of these films. (As a side note, I have a couple scripts you should look at. One's a rom-com, the other is a horror film about...)

1. It Lives Again
2. Last House on the Left
3. The Incredible Melting Man
4. The Devil's Rain
5. The Omen
6. Damien: The Omen II
7. Jaws 2
8. The Brood
9. Don't Look Now
10. The Abominable Mr. Phibes
11. Black Christmas
12. Piranha
13. Bloodsucking Freaks
14. Sisters
15. It's Alive
16. Blacula
17. Suspiria
18. The Changeling
19. Squirm
20. The Hills Have Eyes

Once you guys start remaking 80s horror films, I'll have a new list. Six words: Silent Night, Deadly Night Part Two
